i thought this film was fantastic but thought one thing was stupide, the gumbo character, any respectable football firm would never let such a thick spastick like him in their gang, stupid character who had no meaning to the film to be honest, anyone agree?

shareYour absolutely wrong. Gumbo was spot on and that proved the filmmakers had got the male relationships right in the film. Working class guys can be rough for sure, but they stick together and that includes any guys who have mental or physical problems, and that also explains why Gumbo is sticking with them when he's plainly not a hooligan. If you knew anything about that culture you'd know how nailed-on authentic he was.

Also, when watching the film, Gumbo has not always been mentally handicapped! He was their mate before his Mum died and he 'fell apart' and then nearly fried himself trying to change a light bulb!! You wouldnt ditch a mate after something like that! *beep* love you gumbo!

Loads of idiots on here trying to comment on something they don't know anything about. Tough gangs always have a 'comic relief' character, someone to make fun of etc but they like them all the same.
They're not always disabled, sometimes they are geeks that just grew up with the gang, in the same area, have some connection....etc - it's always the way
