Funny Director's Commentary Quote

Seen this a bajillion times and decided to watch it with John Singleton's commentary. About four minutes in he's rocking and rolling on how stoked he was to be working on his third feature and it goes something like this:

JOHN SINGLETON
So I was 25 years old, making a lot of good money...

Kristy Swanson comes on screen.

JOHN SINGLETON
(Distracted)
You know, and um...
(Languidly)
Kristy Swanson. And, um ... I felt like I was on top of the world...

I just found that hilarious for some reason. He didn't say "Oh, there's Kristy Swanson," or "And we got Kristy Swanson, who was great" ... just saying the name "Kristy Swanson" calmly and then continuing with his story.

"Stwike him, Centuwion ... vewy Wuffwy!"

I watched it with the commentary and I got the feeling that Singleton was unimpressed with Swanson's performance. That's probably why her storyline was cut the most.
