This film is a complete joke. The black professor, the white-guilt blonde girl, the white supremist (him being intimidated by the black boys is another joke altogether), the angry-racist-yet intelligent black guys. Now THAT'S comedy and Hollywood liberal-guilt if I've ever seen it. Come on, guys.
shareAgreed, it was embarrassing to the intelligence of anyone who expected some higher learning. They should have titled it 180 Degrees From Reality.
shareSurprisingly, it's the same guy who wrote and directed the brilliant "Boyz in the Hood" and directed "Rosewood".
As far as a writer, I think he's proven to be a one-hit wonder (Boyz), though I haven't seen "Baby Boy" yet. As a director, I think he is fantastic at setting scenes and gets the best from his performers as the script allows. Even "Higher Learning" is directed well. It's the writing that reduces it to B-grade garbage.

boyz in the hood was far from brilliant, it was just another black made anti white propaganda film. let's face it, this movie favored black people so far over white people it wasn't funny. the black people were super smart, athletic and always in the right despite the fact they acted like animals. white people were made to look like they were allowed to do anything and whatever when they want. stupid movie.

Like I've said before, the only person in this whole film with any redeeming qualities was the female track athlete telling the other guy to quit his f^cking whining and do his job.

yeah, I think either a clown or a garbage collector could have written and directed a better movie than this Higher Learning rubbish
