The shooting was relatively tame.....

The shooter only killed one person before killing himself and as sad as that was in real life lately (think virginia tech) there have been shootings where MANY people died.

Why has no film maker done a movie where they recreate one of those events, either a fictional movie inspired by real events or a recreation of those events using actors that go deep into the aftermath, you could do an entire drama movie about a school shooting and the aftermath.

I agree that making a film inspired by a real life school shooting would be very captivating (just as it was in this film). I think the reason it hasn't happened yet is becuz Hollywood would feel that it was just too disturbing for most ppl. I can even imagine that it would be boycotted by some groups as well. Plus school shootings seem to happen about every few months in the U.S. & that would also make it hard for ppl (Look at how the studios scrapped movies or edited out violence in many films after 9/11). But if it was done tastefully like United 93 was, I think it could be done & would make a very intense & conversational film.

I think there has actually been a handful. Red State and Elephant are the only titles that come to mind right now

Red State??? That's dark comedy (or something) about a cult or something, definitly not about school shootings

Heart of America (2002) is a good one inspired by (but not exactly like, in fact differs in many ways) the Columbine Shootings

look up the Film Zero Day, its based on the Columbine Shooters Video Logs that were never released, the film is shown entirely through a home camera (think found footage) but in the end when they shoot up their school its show via a security camera, in fact the ending shoot out was so realistically done, sometimes the ending is mistaken for actually footage of the real shooting. As for the aftermath, I think American Crime Story would be perfect to portray the whole thing, the weeks/days leading up to the shooting, a entire episode of the shooting its self mid season, and then the remainder would be dealing with the Aftermath and fallout. But It probably never happen, The subject matter would be considered too grim, I remember when Sons of Anarchy got a ton of *beep* for its extremely small but pivotal scene of a kid shooting up a school.

Also 1 last thing, the Shooting in this film was based off the Texas Sniper shooting, and if I remember correctly he didn't get many kills.

The news reporter in the movie documents 3 deaths (1 being himself) so he got 2 kills, although we only got to see one

But yeah they coulda crammed it up a bit, wouldn't mind seeing Cube or Busta get dropped BUT then it would maybe felt like he did the right thing as they did bully him and was a big reason (maybe the sole reason) he turned into nazism in the first place, where as Tyra was innocent so maybe better that just she died in front of us
