Would anyone with any great promise or intelligence go to a school that was populated with such undesirable low-life characters??

It's not like you're going to get to meet the entire student body before you get there. And even if you did there's still the people in the incoming freshmen. And it's not like a college parades around their undesirables. Colleges have zero incentive to present these elements and it's also why they underrepresent crime on campus. Campus police is there to keep incidents in house.
