Why this IS a great film!!

I have LOVED this film since day I saw this movie. Not only is it a great story about friendship and how far a friend with go for the other. But there was always something else that made this movie even more special. And it because of the two leading ladies. Anna Chlumsky(best known for her role in My Girl) and Christina Ricci(known for films like Addams Family and Casper). It's not very often you see great leading actors getting the chance to work with one another side by side. I am just a couple years younger then them so I grew up and enjoyed both of there films growing up. So seeing them together in in this film makes this a priceless film....and over all a great film!!

Me too. I saw this when it came out on video and I remember a few bits now. That was in the mid 90s. Now I just got it in the mail on DVD from Amazon. Looking forward to watching it.

Thanks so much for your comment. I love knowing how others think about the movies that I enjoy. I too bought the movie on Amazon about a 2 months ago. I had it also in VHS but people rarely have video tapes now. So that was one of my reasons of getting it on DVD. Well I hope your enjoying your DVD of the film. And thanx again for replying!!

I love this movie as well!! I was just flipping channels, and it was on tv. Hadn't seen in it ages, I forgot how much I liked it!!

It's a wonderful film. I watched it non-stop as a kid

What's weird is now it's been constantly on HBO channels for years, so it must be more popular now than back then, yet it never gets released on Blu-ray.

This was the first movie of Christina's I ever saw. I think I saw it in 1996. It was whenever it was still on pay per view. Then Christina was my favorite actress from then until many years later (still like most of her movies).

edit: I wonder if I am the only guy here. lol. And now that I think about it I wonder what convinced me to watch it the first time, but good thing I did because 1. I liked it and 2. like I said, I then liked Christina. Otherwise, I may have missed out on now and then, casper, the Addams family movies, sleepy hollow, Prozac nation, etc...

No. I'm a guy too 

I loved Christina back in the 90s too. I actually saw this movie in my 20s, but I loved Christina for many years before that after seeing her in The Addams Family movies, Casper, and Now and Then.
