Not your typical doggie movie, that's for sure!

Being a kid at heart, and an animal lover, I usually enjoy movies where animals have the starring roles. I don't care if they're totally unrealistic, I watch them because I like to watch the animals, and because these movies normally send sweet messages.

But this movie's messages were a mixed-bag, I felt. Not all feel-good, that's for sure!

On the other hand, the puppies and dogs in the movie were adorable!

Yes, the dogs were adorable (that's one thing you can usually count on in these films), and yes, the messages were pretty twisted here. I found the whole "reincarnation" thing very odd, but it was a novel approach.

Thanks for reading my review, Warped.

I have to say this movie's message is so odd, for what is essentially a kids/doggie movie! I just think the writers got it a bit wrong.

Well, the film is based on a novel, which is about a man who is reincarnated as a dog. Yes, that plot sets it apart from other live-action animal films, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with its messages or writing. I understood and cherished the film as a child, and only appreciated it more as I grew older. I also LOVE animal films, whether or not they're realistic--but Fluke is one of the more mature ones, with some darker themes and sadder scenes that might not be judged appropriate for all families. That's up to them individually, of course. ^^
