was it the roof or was it a pipe leak? most houses have the upstairs bathroom/s above the kitchen so that the water is closer together.
and I am watching it right now so I have to look but not all second stories of houses take up the entire floorplan of the first story. it's a long shot but what about having a terrace on top of the kitchen??
just remembered... the attic. didn't he have his old tux stored in the attic in the first one??
