I didnt get why Nina seemed surprised that George was being amorous in the kitchen ... She says 'what do you mean, make love..' Which just seems odd - they are only late 40s, seem to get on well and find each other attractive... I always wondered why its such a weird idea to her... And it's then reiterated when they find out she's pregnant and George comments they haven't done it for weeks (forgetting the kitchen escapade)

I assumed they still had a normal sex life, it was the idea of doing it in the KITCHEN that shocked her. They've been parents for a long time & with kids in the house they are probably used to only using the privacy of their bedroom. Even with no kids in the house, for her type of character, it would be difficult to break the habit & do something "wild" & unexpected like that.
