I love Leslie, but this is Peter Macnicol's film

He is just brilliant in this, the spot on impersonation, both in voice and physicality, that scene with Harvey Korman and the bugs, ust hilarious, and we can't forget that over the top british accent when he is the normal Renfield.

Last movie seen at cinemas: 'Fast Five'
Last dvd bought: 'My Bloody Valentine (1984)'

Agreed, a great performance. In some ways, it reminded me of his role in Ghostbusters - in both, his character becomes a minion to an ancient Eastern European undead villain.

I just thought of that.

I agree. Peter is pure brilliant so he is. Perfection in the Renfield role.

This part has me rolling on the floor every time I see it.

It was a raspberry!

He was the highlight of the movie, with Leslie not far behind.

I also thought Harvey Korman was hilarious, Mel Brooks is such a great director, every line, every sound and facial expression insuring maximum hilarity !

I'll agree he was the funniest, but not in a show-stealing way. Harvey Korman and Leslie Nielsen were also fantastic. I think the funniest scene of the film was where Renfield kept eating bugs. I think the funniest single moment was after the Count died and Renfield gave his pile of dust eyes and a smile...

"You're starting to look like your old self again...."

Cracks me up every time.

Not Mel Brooks best work by any means, but a funny, entertaining, laugh-out-loud kind of flick. I love it.

I think that Leslie just grabs the film for me. Mainly for playing Dracula straight and still making it funny. But Peter Macnicol's performance is good. Really opposing Peter with Renfield's manic ways.

I agree. Leslie Nielsen is awesome in this but Peter MacNicoli is very hilarious as Renfield. Great actor
