From 3.9 to 5.7 the rise of Mel Books' Dracula
Bashed as stupid and unfunny in 1995.
Mel Brooks' Dracula has risen during two decades.
AS 2014, the movie has now a nice 5.7 rating from younger generations!

I gave it a 7 myself.

I think the problem was, if you compare it to the masterpiece of young frankenstein and blazing saddles, it pales in comparison, but if compared to today's crap, it comes across as pretty darn good.
shareif compared to today's crapLOL! So true!!
The passing of Leslie might also have to something with it. People have revisited the movie and then there are those who loved Leslie, but never had watched it before and now gave it a chance.
For me, i loved the movie already back when it was released.
But even when compared to "today's crap," it's still pretty damn funny. The staking of Lucy, I feel, is still one of the funniest things in Brooks' oeuvre, and considering some of the comedic standards he set with the "Springtime for Hitler" sequence and any hand-picked scene from "Young Frankenstein" or "Blazing Saddles" or even "Spaceballs", that's still saying something.
