Sean Penn's Hair?
Should've got an award, it almost looked like a wig you buy at a halloween store.
Was it real? Sean has always had nice hair, but damn.
I Came, I Saw, I Conquered.

And like, I kind of doubt the prison would give him all the product he would need to make a giant pompadour.

This is one of my favourite films and I love his hair in it did you notice how it got bigger as the filming progressed ! what a work of art! I hope the link works above, interesting photograph of sean penn on the set with natural hair minus the products ! plus of course the temporary tattooos which must have taken ages to do.

Sometimes it was so distracting. It was just strange looking.
Remember the magic words: "Please", "Thank you" and "Step off bitch!"
It was the one downfall of the film. It made it hard to take seriously at some points....
Sincerely,
The Nicest Guy in Town
Whoever did his hair for the movie did a great job. He has a thick head of hair, so I'm guessing it was real.
I looked up the real names from Sister Helen's book and then looked for pictures. Sure enough, one of the killers looked a lot like Sean Penn, including the hair. His name was Patrick Sonnier.
shareIt looked to me like he had a hairpiece, teased and fluffed, on the top of his head, with his real hair on the sides. And I'm glad someone else pointed out that it got taller as the movie went on--I thought I was imagining it.
As to why he had such big hair, obviously styled, I guess it was part of his character, representing his character's vanity.
