there is a lot of evidence that suggests that he was innocent, but I really just dont know. I really enjoyed the movie, my problem was that no copycat copies more than one killer

shareI can speak to a bit of this. Now that it is 30 years plus since the Boston Strangler murders, a lot of new evidence came out. De Salvo had a lot of inaccuracies in his statements of the murders and at least one of the murders did not fit the profile of the strangler, yet he confessed to the murder. It is fairly certain among crime experts nowadays that Albert DeSalvo was not in fact the strangler, and that the real strangler got away with it. I'm sure you could find much more detailed information on the internet as it's been widely discussed over the last 10 years of so. De Salvo's descendents and the descendents of one of his alleged victims in fact now go on the road together and state they do not believe De Salvo was the killer.

Fish admitted 3 murders and was a suspect in 3 others. Not even close to the biggest total.
But Edmund Kemper was pretty bad too
Kemper had 6 murders as well.

shareWhen i went to Boston i went on a tour of Boston at night and i was taken to the sites of the Boston strangler. According to their information it is unknown who was the Boston Strangler. Also, they did Dna test on DeSalvo and one of his victims(they actually dug up the bodies and did some kind of different tests i cant exactly remember) and found out his dna didnt match or something. Sorry for being so vague i wish i could remember more.
shareAwastie the Boston Strangler probably did that for a reason: to make it look like Albert Desalvo was the killer, and theres a possibility he moved somewhere else maybe even a different country.
Anyone read Casey Shermans(think thats his name) book about the strangler his aunt was a victim and he beleived Desalvo wasnt the strangler its a good book you should read it.

shareThey say that he was gonna do a Dahmer, but he killed Helen´s assistant in a way that I don't recall reading about Dahmer killing anybody like that, and that is beating him up in alley and dumping him in a river. The only thing alike is that the victim was a gay man.

They implied the next murder would be bundy...when he burned the house down, there was at least one bludgeoned woman laying in the bed...I would guess there was another. He then did the McCullum Killing. When he killed the gay guy he was doing Dahmer. Dahmer used to pick up gays in bars, then kill them...then eat them. Apparently,this copycat drew the line there.
