You've Got Mail

I know this movie was done in '95, as the Windows '95 screensaver was often visible. But the one thing I never got was when she had that other computer set up on am agoraphobic chat room, and Peter Foley sent her that email (with the dancing girl turning into a skeleton) that had the virus in it so the email couldn't be saved. How did she know who she was emailing when she sent that photo of herself and Peter Kurten, where she whispers, "Here, kitty!"

After 12 years, and with all the modern technology, it's easy to forget what we did back then. Does anybody have an answer for this?

Chances are that she posted it to an early forum/chat room site, 'Kurten' was monitoring her Internet connection anyhow so he would have seen it when it was sent...best guess anyhow...it always made me think aswell, could just be a film goof...

Some say it's Linux that the protagonist is using or even RiscOS.
