Was Harry Connick Junior's Character behind the whole thing? That is the conclusion I came to with him writing the letter and all. Can Someone pleas explain, thank you in advance.

No he was'nt but he did have communication with the killer, the killer was a fan of his.

He is'nt actually sending him after her as he quotes "you must be so glad that he chose to spare Dr Hudson", this implies that serial killers admire her as a pin up and not a potential victim. The killer in this one wanted to go after her because he knew that it was the way to everlasting fame.

actually if you go to wikipedia and read up on Copycat, it states that whomever he's writing to at the end, is being given instructions to finish what Peter couldn't, which is kill Helen. Whether it actually happends or not will remain unknown.

Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that is editable by anyone, the statements are just another persons point of view on what they saw and how they interpretated the ending.

I can't see however why he would say you must be glad she was spared if he wanted her to die...he would just give new information to his new apprentise so that he could kill her off...

In the letter to his "disciple", Darrell Lee says the new desciple must be glad that Peter failed so now the new one can do "God's Will" properly.

I think his statement of, "Keep it simple," pretty much clarified for me that Daryl was involved with everything.

To me it seemed more like Peter probably contacted Daryl and told him he was interested in killing, Daryl probably put the notion in his head, just as what probably happened with the person he was writing to in the end.

He was writing to this Conrad character to finish the job.
The whole you must be glad he spared her comment means, that Conrad is happy because he is now chosen to finish the job.
So Helen will never rest until she is laid to rest.

Yes. He was behind it, and yes he's sending Conrad out to kill Helen. He says " Glory will be your's , vengeance will be mine" The whole copycat motif was a game to screw with her head that would culminate in her killing. What he meant by strayed from the path is that Peter got way too involved with screwing with the cops. He shouldn't have ever left that video for Holly Hunter's character she was really a non-factor in the big picture. He should've just taken Helen back to the bathroom and finished the job.

According to a link I just read on one of the other thread, ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112722/board/thread/201058322?d=212931351 #212931351 ), Conrad was actually the man that broke into her flat to leave the book, we're supposed to assume it's Peter but Daryll Lee is playing the long game, he already has another potential assistant, maybe even more than one, lined up should Peter fail.
