A very powerful movie (SPOILERS)

SPOILERS.

Sigourney Weaver is fantastic in this, she is a very underrated actress. When i watched this for the very first time i thought the killer was intelligent, but watching it tons of times years later i realised that he wasn't as bright as i thought he was, just like Sigourney Weaver said in one scene "You're just a Copycat", he was clever and conniving, but Signourney Weaver's character was way more intelligent than the killer.

I love how she tells it like it is to the cops especially when the female cop tries to bull**** her by pretending to be a fan of her work, it was uncalled for on the cop's part, the cop should have stopped being fake and just said straight up that she dislikes her, but she needs her help with the murder cases.

Sigourney Weaver's character is Agoraphobic, fine, but she was only torturing herself when she was talking about men, it couldn't happen, so why go there? There's other stuff that she can do at home with her computer.

Overall a very strong movie, dark, psychological, extremely intense.

Agreed.

And every morning it was Peter who moved Helen's newspaper.

And couldn't Reuben have tried to shoot Peter when he's running away from Helen's apartment?

And it's so creepy when we see that Helen is being watched, as are M.J. and Reuben as they leave Helen's apartment the first time.

And the sub plot concerning the Chinatown shooting in the police station is heart rending.

And Sigourney is stunning and convincing as the agoraphobic psychiatrist.

And Holly Hunter is her equal in every way, except height.

The ending always get me.

Harry Connick Jr is awesome as the insane baddie who influences William MacNamara's killer killing spree.

J.E. Freeman is wonderful as Hunter and Mulroney's knowing boss. And Will Patton is slimily effective as a jealous ex of Hunter's.

It's one of my all time go to guilty pleasures. I don't care if the critics didn't rate the film. I did.

I can watch it and rewatch it over and over again and it still affects me. That's it's power.
