For the longest time, until I learned of the existence of IMDb, my wife and myself would see Delroy Lindo in other movies or tv shows and say "Hey! It's STOP EATING MY SESEME CAKE!"...

Definitely intentional. I mean, get a load of Tim Curry's face as soon as that line is spit at him. Best line/moment in the entire flick. It just comes out of nowhere.
Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.
