Why?

By the analogy you're going, Alien would be illogically viewed as a ripoff of Jaws but set in space, and Predator would be accused of stealing material from Alien and Rambo. Movies do that all the time.

The films i'd be watching to get a feeling for a true adaptation of Congo would be Apocaylpse Now and William Friedkin's Sorcerer with the third act being a mix of Aliens and Predator.

There's definitely no arthritis in this group!

What's Aliens got to do with Congo?
I didn't see ANY connection whatsoever, Apart from the automated sentry guns ... which were literally the ONLY thing I liked about this *beep* piece of *beep* of a movie.

Where's your confusion coming from? He spells out EXACTLY what Aliens copied from Congo.
