why didn't Elton think Tai was good enough for him?

She was just as pretty as Cher, Why didn't he give Tai a chance?

reply

Because in Emma, Mr. Elton thought Harriet was in a class beneath him and clueless does stick somewhat close to Emma.

reply

Like Cher said he was a snob and a half!

Tai was not as pretty as Cher. (talking about characters, not actresses necessarily)

reply

That proves how shallow Elton was, he was a superficial jerk!

reply

He didn't really have deep feelings for Cher either. In the car after the party, he said, "Me and Tai don't make sense. You and me? We make sense." He was referring to how they match up in terms of popularity, money, and social class. Cher would NOT have "made sense" to him if her dad owned a bakery or she was of a lower social class in school, even if she looked exactly the same.

She lived below Sunset.

Brittany Murphy herself probably didn't even think think she was that pretty considering she lost a whole bunch of weight grew her hair out straightened it and dyed it blonde.

RIP Cory Monteith your fans miss you dearly

@ Blondie

It was really well known that Brittany was in truth a very petite woman. And for the role of Tai, she was actually asked to gain weight. Once the shoot was complete she then went back to her regular regimen. Which is why she seemed so much smaller in everything since Clueless.

RIP Brittany.

Sorry but Brit was thicker in Cherry falls as well so ur explanation of her being thin then gaining weight than dropping is of no value.

I always thought it was to do with money, hence Cher's comment of "you are a snob and a half"

100%. All about the benjamins and she was poor. (to Elton)

Did they ever say what Thai's social status was? She had to live in the rich area to go to the same high school, no?

Or maybe her mother was a maid to a rich person, which is why they lived there?
