Is "Clueless" somewhat hard to enjoy now (almost 20 years later)?

Considering that Brittany Murphy is dead and Alicia Silverstone is a *beep* weirdo now w/ her "unorthodox" views on parenting.

I don't see Alicia Silverstone and Brittany Murphy when I see this movie.

The only thing that makes this movie difficult to enjoy for me is Brittany Murphy, period. And that has nothing to do with her death--she is and has always been the weak link for me in this otherwise cute and enjoyable movie. She constantly comes off as though she is cracked out or mental and that is not limited to this movie--she had that vibe in EVERY movie for me.

Like a constant nervous weirdness about her and to add to that her acting sucked in this movie.

"Why couldn't the monkey arrange this from INSIDE the garbage can?"

You're supposed to like the characters in a movie and the actors for the way they were at the time. If you let who the actors become get in your way of enjoying the movie, then I feel sorry for you. You must not have a favorite movie or something, seeing as every actor eventually retires or grow old or dies or messes up with acting or switches careers or becomes weird. Just let it go and enjoy the movie.

Not really. I don't usually pay much attention to what's going on in celebrities lives so my view of the movies aren't really colored or tainted by that.

I know right, if I like the movie I'm going to let what views or what the actor/actress do stop me from liking a movie.

I can agree with this too, especially when I see how people can't separate fact from fiction.
