She didn't look exactly fat, so she must have been very thin before she gained the weight. It looked like they dressed her in shapeless clothes too (compared to those of the other girls) to add to the overweight look.

I thought she looked hideous, had to flip channels. that's not a humans jaw, certainly not a girl's. saffron didn't look great either, I wonder what procedure she had after this film.

I think she gained too much, not because she didn't look good, but because it made her look too old for the 17 years of age she was supposed to be portraying.
