Ladies?

Am I the only one who cringed and crossed my legs as tight as I could?

Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defense.

This pretty much summed up my reaction as well.

You do those drugs. You do that alcohol.

Oh my God did I ever!

In fact, this movie has haunted me for the latter half of my life...

I was about 15 when I saw this movie, it had only been out for a short time and I just happened upon it on the new release wall at Blockbuster (back before the days of internet when I still rented movies from Blockbuster, and didn't really know who Stuart Gordon was; though I loved horror movies even then, that much hasn't changed).

So anywho, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and I watched the movie at home by myself like an idiot. BIG MISTAKE! Even at that age I had seen A LOT of horror movies, and I was never really bothered by torture/gore, etc. (strange as it was for a 15 year old girl), but nothing I watched had EVER disturbed me like this movie did. That is literally why I can remember the whole event so clearly, because it stuck with me all these years, seared into my brain like some sick and twisted psychological branding.

First of all I had nightmares for weeks (I wasn't really one to be prone to nightmares either). Second of all, and this was the strange part, I couldn't stop talking about it afterward! I kept describing it to all my friends in very graphic detail, frequently to their obvious disgust (most of my friends being female). The whole situation was akin to having a horrible song stuck in your head, but regardless of how horrible it is, you have this insatiable urge to sing it because you can't get it out. Traumatizing!

Even now, after all these years, thinking about that scene with the prostitute still makes me squirm. Over the years the movie would pop into my head from time to time when I was watching something, or read something on a horror website that reminded me of it. I always thought of it as the sickest and most disturbing movie I have ever seen. It wasn't until fairly recently that I found out Stuart Gordon directed it.

Now that I am familiar with Stuart Gordon, and old enough and wise enough to appreciate him and his work, part of me wants to watch Castle Freak again, just to see if my 'older and wiser mind' will view it differently I guess. Unfortunately, the other part of me is screaming "Jenna don't be an idiot! You don't need to renew those images!"

I'm just so torn...

In half!!!!! Buaaahahahhaahaaa!

Sorry, I couldn't resist :-)

Paradise Lost... found it!

Oh, my God, DID I EVER. D-X
At first I was like 8-D because, despite being a whole three decades younger than Jeff Combs, I have the BIGGEST crush on this guy, hahaha. But then the freaky guy got to her and I was like D-8> "FML!!!"
I felt like gluing my legs together and bandaging my chest. Ow ow ow ow ow ow OW!!!!!!

Oh totally! I remember squeezing my knees up to my chest and holding my arms around my knees....tightly.

It didn't help that the girl who played the prostitute was a really good actress and sold it. Oh gah, the look in her eyes...haunting. Oh and.....Ow ow ow ow ow ow OW!!!!!!
