gory/violent scenes?

please describe the gore/violence in this film

well there are some gore scenes but nothing too distrubing. In the most interesting scene the freak bites through the bone of his thumb to set himself free. Other scenes don't show much special effects, more using stage blood.

Well he also bites of a girl nipple and then he literally eats her vagina.

Yeah, um, the thumb thing didn't bother me NEAR as much as when the freaky guy kinda literally ATE the hooker's boobs and crotch and she bled to death from the chest and groin in the basement. I think you kinda forgot about that part. :-/

There are a few scenes that are a disturbing. The two that come to mind are 1) when he bites his thumb off to get free and 2) when he bites the breasts of the hooker and then, literally, eats her vagina.

The film isn't that gory. As has been said, the thumb biting scene and the hooker's murder are the bloodiest bits.However, Optic Nerve's make-up fx for the freak are superb! Plus the film is quite atmospheric and has Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton in it.I think that's recommendation enough, at least to rent it.
