Did anyone find Eric more likable in the first half of the movie?

While Eric was an ass he at least wasn't such a hateable character in the first half of the movie, I totally lost respect for Eric when he throws the remote at the secretary.

And he was probably right about Billy. He wasn't mature enough to handle being the head of a fortune 500 company.

I'm glad Billy himself realized he wasn't mature or capable enough to handle being the head of a fortune 500 company, I'm glad he wised up and gave the company to Carl (why didn't Brian give the company to Carl to begin with).
