Farmer Hoggett's Paint Cans

I love this movie, but I have an oddball question that's been driving me crazy. In the scene where Babe first goes in the house (to retrieve the alarm clock), there are a couple close-ups of the paint cans that the farmer's using to paint that pretty doll house.

One of the cans has a word painted on the side it. It looks like "lurps" or something. I'm sure there's more to the word than that, but does anybody know what that word's supposed to be?

My 2-year-old loves this movie, and I do too, but every time it gets to that point, I become obsessed with that odd word on the side of that dang paint can!!

If anybody could help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Maybe it says "purple" or something similar like that. It would be funny if it really does say "lurps," though.

I'm pretty sure it says 'turps', which is short for turpentine, and otherwise known as white spirit. It is used as a paint thinner, and also to clean brushes. Hope that helps

It does indeed, say 'turps'. It's a common phrase for paint-thinner in the UK, even if it's not made of turpentine.

The mirror... it's broken.
Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.
