Banned in Malaysia. Why?
I noticed this and Schindler's List were banned in Malaysia with many other things. What is not banned in Malaysia?
shareAlthough not a fundamentalist state, the majority of the population is still Islamic. The pig is traditionally viewed as an unclean animal so its unlikely the film would be well received, broadly speaking.
A friend of mine used to publish a mid-sized agricultural journal, the demographic being the Far East market. She made the mistake of putting a pig on the cover once - it caused over 1000 complaints.
