Just a fun little story

A few years ago, I found myself in a remote part of Alaska and starting a relationship with the only other human being I encountered on a regular basis. We watched a lot of movies together. I wanted him to see Babe. He resisted. I became more and more adamant, he resisted with ever increasing vehemence. “I don’t like children’s movies!”, he said. Well, finally I hog-tied him by withholding extracurricular activities until he sat through the movie. That worked. He laughed several times, really seemed to enjoy it. Then I caught him in the middle of the night watching it AGAIN! And again, and again. We’re no longer together, but I always smile when I think of him in the kitchen, weeks after we had finally seen the movie together. He’s standing over the sink, chuckling to himself, saying “anorexic duck?!?”
