Why didn't the goat speak?

I noticed all of the animals spoke except for the goat. I wondered, why is that? When the Hoggett's relatives came, and Maa spoke, I could have sworn that was the goat talking.

Why didn't the goat spoke? was it because it was not a central character? I was surprised the cow and the horse spoke but I would have been curious as to what the goat would say if it spoke.

Why are you so bothered about a Goat not speaking? And no how could anyone possibly know why the goat didn't speak?

Nothing like a nighttime stroll to give you ideas.

I was just wondering why. I was not saying the goat should speak but I always wondered why it did not speak.
