What are the great live action family films you can think of?

So you got E.T., Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Babe, Babe: Pig in the City, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Mary Poppins, the Princess Bride, a good number of Muppet movies and Goonies is supposed to be very good but I've never seen it, and both Where the Wild Things Are and Hugo are great, but they both have a little more appeal for adults. And I'm pretty sure you can put Star Wars and Wizard of Oz in with that bunch. Matilda, the NeverEnding Story, the Karate Kid, Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal are pretty good, but a step down from all those others I'd say. But what are some of the real stand out ones that actually rank with great adult films?

I've also heard good things about The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep, Millions and My Dog Skip. Plus the Lassie movies are supposed to be classic.

Well, there's this one and The Princess Bride (1987). I can't think of any others I would describe as great. Good, sure, but not great.

Don't listen to the negative ones; their arguments are irrational.

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey is very good.

I'd add Paddington, Groundhog Day, the Harry Potter films, specifically the first 3 (more family-friendly than the others), Big, The Artist, the Sound of Music and Duma. Bridge to Terabithia is a family film, but is a bit of a downer compared to the others. It's a Wonderful Life also retains its charm.

Lots of great movie already mentioned. I personally really enjoyed Stand By Me & Secondhand Lions.

Dark Crystal isn't a film for anyone. Putting anyone through that piece of crap is akin to torture.
