Score for babe

Hey there. Not sure if there are any other film score freaks on this forum. But Babe was always a wonderful score in my opinion. It is composed by Nigel Westlake. I only have the end credits but that took me long to find. I can give anyone the mp3 if they like but I'm sure it's on youtube somewhere which is where I found it. Anyone have any other tracks?

I agree, the score is just beautiful! I wish I could find the soundtrack somewhere!

No, but I ate a brownie once.

Of note: The main theme of the film is in fact NOT composed by Westlake, but taken from Saint Saens' 3rd Symphony (Organ Symphony), the maestoso of the second movement.

But to clarify, while the score is inspired by Saens Saens, it's been adapted for the film to fit the moments and film. The score also features different instrumentation.

So people seeking out the "Babe" score will be disappointd just to buy the Saens Saens piece (as wonderful as it is). The two are not the same.

Luckily the score is on Amazon, for those seeking it out. I love it-- it's creative, sweet and filled with joy.

Westlake wrote the original music, but the rest of the score is veritably PEPPERED with a variety of classical pieces.

I'll have to pay much closer attention in future, since today for some reason, I noticed that Mrs. Hoggett was humming a few bars from Symphony No. 4 by Brahms. Third Movement. While she picked carrots.

A totally throwaway musical cue but an absolutely identifiable melody. And I'm not even that savvy about classical music. I just happen to like Brahms' 4th. :-)
