Crime bill and assault weapons ban

Biggest joke in the whole movie! Sidney says the crime bill has no chance of lowering crime without the assault weapons ban. When in reality assault weapons were (and are) used in less that 1% of gun crimes.

This shows Sorkin not only had an agenda, but is also willing to ignore facts to forward that agenda.

Its a movie written and directed by Leftist supporters, and one of their biggest leaps beyond reason involves blaming the weapon instead of the criminal. In the Leftist view, a utopian government would protect all the people, to the point they'd never need to defend themselves. So when they see tragedies like the recent murders in Orlando and Dallas, it just bolsters that previous assumption. Never mind the fact that the government couldn't prevent either of those shootings in the first place.

I love how he accuses his opponent of not supporting the bill of rights, and then announces his intention to gut the 2nd amendment of said bill of rights. Total disconnect on Sorkin. He just can't see it.
