Oscar?

Now i know people will probly flip out on this thread but does anyone else think that Jim Carrey should have recieved an oscar for this performance...if not this movie maybe the first one? Now your probly thinkin what?!! this is ridiculous! but when you think about it, how hard would it be to do the things that Jim does in this movie without laughing or screwing it up. every outrageous and ridiculous outburst he makes in this movie is done with such passion and the delivery of each line is acted smoothly...Carrey gives a good impression to the viewer that the craziness of Ace Ventura is real and pulls it all off with flow and makes it seem soo natural. I mean most Oscar winners usually play a character that is mainly serious and shows a range of believeable emotions. The only difference with Jim Carrey is that instead of serious every conversation is funy and goofy and nothin is taken serious...the range of emotions are there and the facial expressions and physical movements are very impressive and hilarious. The only problem i think is that this movie wasnt well recieved and is a little on the cheesy side. I think its hilarious and that Jim Carrey is an original comical genius and i also think that if the academy awards werent afraid to range into different genres that he may have been given a chance. Just because the movie isnt the greatest doesnt mean the acting by the main character isnt unbelievable....now lets see what you guys think...o and if anyone disagrees and thinks hes been better in other movies please share
