I like this one better too, but the first is still hilarious.

I agree. This is one of my favorite comedies.

The projector scene alone makes this movie better.

i agree, so much better than the first!
"my, aren't i the popular one"
"do i have something in my teeth"
the film is packed with memorable and hilarious moments

I also think the second one is better. It may have a thin script and all, but its the all little jokes that makes the movie.

Jim Carrey was at his funniest in this movie.

When I saw this in the cinemas (suddenly feeling old...) I was very disappointed, it just wasn't even close to the originals quality, and that's how I felt for years after many viewings. Rewatched them both recently, for the first time in years and I was just shocked by how much funnier this one is. Sure there are a lot of jokes that fall flat, but there's just a ridiculous amount of inspired hilarity here, I can't even begin to think of the funniest moment.
The sudden existance of the monster truck, maybe.

I have always thought this is funnier than the first one. The first one might be better, but the second one is funnier.
I have seen it so many times and it makes me laugh every time, at exactly the same jokes too:)
I still find them funny.

I think what makes it more funny is that this time Carrey has really grown into the character. The first time around he was still fairly unknown to the audience and Ace felt more of an experiment to his acting style. He tested to see how he would work in the future.
But by the time the second one came out he was famous and he already developed his trademark skills and that worked to the film's benefits.

i'm glad i'm not alone on this?! lol this movie was so quotable & i always favorited it more than the first one which is the ass-backwards way of thinking haha but it's true! i also liked Shrek 2 better than 1 soooo.
It's funny how sequels can actually be better than the first huh? :)
