I loved both characters but it seemed like Malloy was a bit more of a kick ass character and that's probably due to Kevin Connolly having acting experience before taking the role, unlike Faustino. Who's the blame or take credit.. the actors or the writers of the show?

Bud Bundy was a smart loser while Ryan Malloy was a dumb loser who had no redeeming qualities. I think he was a good baseball player which wasn't displayed on the show often.

Bud had something about him that was charming and funny. There is nothing about Ryan that gave him any redeeming qualities.
