Why did it stop after 2 seasons?

I will never understand why they cook on TV. I can't smell it. Can't eat it. Can't taste it.
This show is brilliant but stupid critics realy panned it

Yea or maybe some specials it has been forgotten about where it was only out in 95-96 lots or people have forgotten about it people said it was like Dads Army and they panned Ben Elton which was rather unfair
shareIt was the critics at the time. British critics just don't seem to like "normal" situation comedies and, I reckon, there was a certain hostility towards Ben Elton (the writer) as he had been a controversial "alternative comedian" in the 1980s happy to have a go at the establishment. But, during the 1990s, he went through a huge change and is now involved in some of the very stuff he was ridiculing a few years ago. Compare The Thin Blue Line with The Young Ones ....
The Thin Blue Line is one of my favourite comedies
it's such a pleasant show...
the characters are entirely loveable - every last one of them. that's what makes the show.
