What cook has pots up to his neck?
As well as being impractical, it's an accident waiting to happen.
I always hoped the writers were setting us up for a major kitchen accident that incinerated the Tallaxian goofball once and for all.
Alas, no.
Why didn't they get rid of that character? Nobody liked him, and he had nothing to do, as the Doctor took over his intended role as comic relief.
Honestly, that show would have benefitted from a "Red Wedding" bloodbath episode, where they got rid of all the characters the writers didn't know what to do with, and brought on some new people who might have been more popular.

I liked the Neelix and Tuvox shows but your right the pots were absurd.

Kes was actually the character I despised more, because everything to do with Jennifer Lien is poison. She's been in prison several times, she's a CRIMINAL!
Neelix was great. Watching Voyager a second time right now and I like him more than when it initially aired. He was the heart of the Voyager crew. Sure he was annoying but he was their emotional support. I dont know much about Jennifer's problems but I never liked the Kes character. Not really her fault. Seven was more likeable her first episode.
shareI always thought that the giant boiling cauldrons were intentionally absurd to bring contrast to the neat tidy replicators that they were supposed to be living on. Instead they have this overblown kitchen with Macbeth style fog pouring out of the kettles and "eye of newt" recipes. It was allegory for the conditions they found themselves in while in the Delta quadrant.

It's like, even with all the Academy taught physics and technobabble, they couldn't figure out a way to get more oxygen to the fuel? I'm surprised they didn't go ahead and make them campfires.
