I did. she was arrogant, rude, and selfish. what pisses me off most was that she always called Peter by his last name. Not first. i always find that aggravating when someone calls someone else by there last name. I had a teacher call me by my last name but I cursed her out for that
hell no. I liked her better than Mary Jane. She had a better design and voice as well (Jennifer Hale FTW). Also she was pretty hot for a cartoon character
Felicia shows signs of growth after making several bad mistakes with Morbius and Jason (Hobgoblin). Mary Jane starts off strong, but almost devolves. She's a very strong independent woman in the beginning of the show, and ends up being a pretty dumb "damsel in distress" at the end, especially when she becomes a clone.
I don't hate MJ, but they definitely made Felicia a better, more interesting character.
I disliked Felicia for the simple fact that she was never interested in Peter, but always had the hots for Spiderman. Makes you wonder how stupid she would've felt if she had found out Peter was Spidey. Would've been a huge bitch slap.
That and I always thought Felicia was kind of a slut. She jumped from Flash, to Peter (kind of), to Morbius, to Spidey, to Jason, back to Spidey, back to Morbius, and then back to Spidey again in the Secret Wars.
Not only that, but did anyone notice how moronic, inconsiderate and hypocritical she always was. A good example is in season 2 when Peter tries to warn her that Morbius is dangerous after he turned into a vampire and she just accuses him of being jealous and treats him like dirt. Then later she discovers Morbius is a vampire after he tries to turn her. Does anyone remember her apoligizing to Peter? Cuz I certainly don't.
Another good point, when she thought Spiderman abducted Morbius from the hospital, she claims to hate Spiderman with all her heart and soul, yet early in the third season, she's making out with him on her balcony. Typical Felicia Hardy. She might've been my least favourite character on the show had she not become the Black Cat.
Funny that you mentioned Felicia only had the hots for Spiderman cuz I was gonna say when she became the Black Cat, she really didn't want to be his partner. She only wanted to get in his pants lol ; )
Meh! Both the love interest didn't do it for me in this show. It was better when Pete was alone.
Felicia Hardy for some strange reason her character to me anyway. Came of like they took Betty and Veronica from Archie Comics, put them in blender, and out came this shows version of Felicia Hardy. Now don't be thinking I'm hating on Archies. I actually like both characters(preferbly Veronica). But combining the two thats a bit too much.
I also never saw what Peter saw in her. Other than her being pretty and rich. She sure as hell didn't deserve the amount of attention he gave her on this show. Maybe the writers were fascinated of giving Spidey a WASP girlfriend. Who knows?
As for this shows version of Maryjane. That is not Maryjane. First whats with the clothes? Cowboy Boots, Yellow sweater and Jeans. MJ comics wouldn't be caught dead wearing that. And second why did they remove everything that made MJ comics lovable.
Show really could have used Gwen. Her guest appearance in the final episode doesn't count.
Something is not right when Terry Lee was the only interesting woman in Spideys life.
Despite her occasional bitchiness (and it's not like MJ didn't have moments of this) I liked her. Felicia Hardy/Black Cat ended up being a more dynamic character than MJ, partly due to the verve Jennifer Hale (in one of her first voice acting gigs) put into her performance, and partly due to the mistakes and suffering the show put her through, which eventually culminated in her busting loose as the Black Cat. And honestly there was always a certain bite in the back & forth between Spider-Man/Pete & Black Cat/Felicia that was missing in his scenes with MJ.
I disliked Felicia for the simple fact that she was never interested in Peter, but always had the hots for Spiderman. Makes you wonder how stupid she would've felt if she had found out Peter was Spidey. Would've been a huge bitch slap.
That's pretty much how it was in the comics - Felicia/Black Cat was all about Spider-Man but their relationship fizzled when she couldn't handle the fact that behind the mask he was just another blue collar guy with a 9-5 job; she later regretted not appreciating the Peter aspect of our protagonist. It's pretty much the Superman/Lois Lane/Clark Kent formula.
It's also worth noting that this show's version of Felicia/Black Cat was a composite of Black Cat and the late Gwen Stacy, whom the writers chose not to use beyond the one dimensional hopping episode because she was dead by then and they didn't want to deal with all the hassle that came with it. It's often forgotten that when Gwen originally appeared in the comics her personality & treatment of Peter tended to run hot & cold - a fact that is often forgotten since years of retcons portray her as more of an affable girl next door type (the TSSM version of Gwen had elements of Deborah Whitman mixed in). Gwen also came from a reasonably well off family, as does Felicia in this series only more so.
