Undeveloped Bad Guy idea?

I recently watched the season 2 opener "Into the Mystic." At the beginning of the episode before Quinn slides, he sees some strange guy laughing at him... and Quinn also had a nightmare where with the same guy a few minutes before. At the end of the episode, Quinn and the gang leave/slide off Earth prime thinking they weren't home due to Quinn's "squeaky fence since childhood" test. Then the same weird guy walks out of Quinn's house and tells his mom that he oiled the fence to fix things up for her. So my question is... did the writers intend for this guy to be some kind of unknown arch enemy of the sliders that they weren't able to develop enough before more production problem hit the show? Or have I gone crazy? Lol

The weird guy was never seen again as far as I can remember.

Mr. Gale was just another recurring face in the multiverse, I think, like the taxi driver.

I had always wondered what that was about. It did seem like there was supposed to be something evil going on with him...

I thought the oiling of the gate was just his job. In the pilot, there was Jake the gardner. Somehow, I thought this was just a new actor playing Jake, like how there was two actresses who played Mrs. Mallory. I don't believe there was any intention to fool the Sliders into thinking they were not home...

but who knows...

Wasn't he also the guy who played Wizard Quinn's Assistant?

For some reason, I never focused on how this guy kept showing up...

But you are right... Maybe it was an undeveloped Bad Guy idea... There was enough there to start with, to do that.

The weird guy was never seen again as far as I can remember.

'Mr Gale' also re-appears as a lawyer at the beginning of Greatfellas although the Sliders don't seem to recognise him.

That guy was in a few episodes. He was married to Quinn's mom in one. Mostly a Gardner or a neighbor.

He wasn't married to Quinn's mother. He was her gardener.

The gardner Jake who was seen in the Pilot on Earth Prime, was also married to Quinn's mom on the "Elvis & JFK are alive, & Red is Go" Alternate Earth...

There is a Handyman in "Into The Mystic", who oiled the gate just before Quinn tests it. He was seen earlier in the episode as the villain who stole the sliding machine plans. He was also seen at least one other time, as some guy who laughs at Quinn when the team is sliding off a world.

It was this guy, that many thought was supposed to be some villain of the series, that was Undeveloped.
