Ernest Borgnine

Upon hearing of Mr. Borgnine's passing, my first thought was of an episode of this show. The plot revolved around the famous photograph "The Kiss" of a Sailor and a Nurse kissing to celebrate the end of the war. Manny had claimed to be the sailor, and he had successfully hidden the photo from his wife for some 50 years because the nurse he was kissing was not her. It was one of the funniest bits of television I have ever seen. Rest in peace sir.

Amen.

For some reason, I was thinking this show was among the last of Mr. Borgnine's career. Checking his filmography, I see that he kept working until the end, God bless him.

What a career--they don't make them like Ernest Borgnine anymore. Rest in peace.

If you check Google Images, you will see Ernest Borgnine meeting that very nurse from that 1945 picture in Times Square at a Veteran's Day ceremony in Washington in the early 2010s.

I wonder if he mentioned to her anything about that episode from "The Single Guy"?
