Movies should be made based on this show

let's face it, plots from mainstream movies these days suck ass. Batman, transformers and avenger crap don't even have a plot lol.

But this show has some nice twists. With better acting, effects and editing, a decent director can create masterpiece movies based on Outer Limits! Why doesn't anyone try?

I agree! It would be such a good idea, i really miss this show and keep on watching old episodes.

District 9 is pretty much The Grell

And so Governor Devlin, because even the cost of freedom can be too high, I REFUSE your pardon!

Actually The Outer Limits episodes were often based on books, like "Sand Kings" for example.
But yea, you're right about the movies today, wouldn't mind seeing these stories again in a refreshed form.

I wish Lithia was made into a full length movie. It was a great episode, but it had so many issues, that it left me with many unanswered questions, like the following:

How did all men just disappear, and was the appearance of the man-killing virus really just by accident?

There is the issue of a centralized authority being in charge of the distribution of resources, and the result that resources keep getting fewer, leading to smaller rations.

Even though Hera has spread her philosophy that men caused all the violence, wasn't she the one who awakened the man from days of old? Why? Also, wasn't it strange how quickly the women raised in a "non-violent" culture became warriors, when they had the motive. Is violence really a male trait?

There is the issue of romance, love, and jealousy. In the all women world, women find comfort with each other, but let the rooster loose in the henhouse and watchout!

This advanced society of the future seems to have reverted back to 18th century technology. What has caused the future society to shun progress? It reminded me of Anthem by Ayn Rand.

The man convinces the village of women to fight for their freedom. I would have like to see that expanded beyond a pep-talk speech.

The story needed more than 40 minutes.

I saw a interview with James Cameron saying he nicked ideas off two episodes off the outer limits 1963? One was Soldier cant remember other. Thats how he got the ideas for terminator.

But later he took the news article down as this was copyright and he was eventually sued.

An Outer Limits movie was reportedly planned since 2010, to be co-written by
Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. (I assume that it would be based primarily
on the 1963 original series?)

AFAIK it's unclear whether or when that project may move forward?
A November 2012 Screen Rant report said it was "currently dead" at
that time (although more recently an October 2013 Hollywood Reporter
article said it's still "in development"?).

I just watched Bloodwork on Chiller and thought This is a 90 minute Outer Limits. Complete with the hero flagging down a car on the road, that happens to be driven by one of the villains.

Interesting.

They're actually working on a movie based on the episode Demon with a Glass Hand.
