A friend of mine worked there, and the writers/cast used to BRAG during the first season that they were going to "finish off" Saturday Night Live. Here MadTV is gone after 14 years and SNL is now in it's 36th season? Something like that....interesting. Arrogance never pays off. In any case MadTV did have some great skits like the Vancome Lady and Mo's Lorraine character! I'm sorry it's gone in spite of their arrogance early on in the series.
share14 years of being on television is nothing to scoff at, and honestly at the time it first premiered it WAS better than SNL. At the moment even SNL is pretty awful.

I still can't believe that they were canceled and SNL is still on. I can't even remember the last time SNL was funny! Not in the last 10 years, at least!
shareif MadTV were to have premiered in the past 5-8 years, it would no doubt beat out SNL. SNL was in its prime in the 90s, but now it's just plain horrible.
