BUY THE DVDS, PEOPLE!!!!

appologies if you already have bought them. this message is aimed at everyone else.

I WANT ALL THE SEASONS TO BE RELEASED ON DVD!!!

and i bought season 1 as soon as it was released. what a great package! every episode completely uncut, top quality, heaps of extras...it was as good a set as you would ever hope to see on dvd.

but unfortunately that's where the good news ends. apparently hardly anyone bought the dam thing, cos amazon still has copies in stock even though it was released 5 years ago!!

so what happens? the company doesn't release season 2 cos they assume they'll get burnt on those too.

so where is everyone?! how many of you on this board has bought a copy? it seems to be a popular place so there must be a lot of fans floating around.

if you're a fan and haven't bought season 1, can i ask why not? surely there are more fans out there like myself who have been suffering for a decade now because we can't enjoy our favourite show on dvd?!?!

I wasn't too crazy about the first few seasons of the show either. If they came out on dvd I would love to have some of the newer seasons especially 2002 (even 2000)-2005 when Paul Vogt, Michael McDonald, and Mo Collins were still on the show. I loved the Lillian Verner show that was so funny and would love to have those on dvd. I have the best of dvd they came out with and it made me want to see more of the second half of the show's history.

I bought Season 1 on DVD so I know I'm not the one being targeted in in the OP. However, I did want to express how unfortunate it was they decided not to release any other seasons. I really loved season 1, and I remember 2 and 3 being exceptionally good as well from when I was a kid.

I used to remember being like 7 or 8 when madtv began and I used to try and stay up late so I could watch it with my parents. I am such a big fan of Dave Herman and Bryan Callen and the rest of the cast from the first couple of season's. Although I read somewhere that Herman didn't like working on madtv and preferred his (sporadic) work on King of the Hill later in his career... his work, along with the rest of season 1's cast was amazing.

I also want to mention how much I loved the pop culture references in the first couple of seasons as opposed to them now. I remember how big The Smashing Pumpkins, Jim Carrey, OJ Simpson, and Pauly Shore were during the 95 season era and how much fun it was when they would rip on those guys or bring them up in sketches. Maybe it's because I grew up in those years but regardless, it's was a lot funnier than the later seasons.

It's a shame they canceled the show but I felt it was getting too stale anyway. I am crossing my fingers the dvd's somehow get a cult following and maybe have a few more released. Just having up to season 4 would be a dream for myself at least.

EDIT: Off topic a bit but 2 of my favorite sketches that made fun of (films) from the 90's (although outdated) were "Apollo the 13th: Jason Takes Nasa and Lethal Weapon 4: Lethal Talkin'. Which is sort of odd considering both movies would actually be made/ released in some form or another in the 2000's.

See how I manage? I manage well.

I got Season 1 from Future Shop to my surprise. I'd love to see the later Seasons, especially the first ones with Michael McDonald.

Why would I buy something I haven't seen?

Real shame MAD TV isn't on TV much anymore. Comedy Network still shows Season 8-13 I think it was. But those aren't on DVD.

I don't have any other channels that still broadcast it.
