Alex Borstein (Ms Swan), Michael McDonald (Stewart), Debra Wilson (Whitney Houston always sweating and wig pulling and Oprah Winfrey impressions), Will Sasso, Vancome lady, Mo Collins (Lorraine Swanson), Stephnie Weir (Dot, Kylie), Aries Spears
I *beep* loved Ms Swan!! I wish theyd release some Best Of dvds that would be awesome! My favs were Michael McDonald, Bobby Lee, Stephanie Weir and Nicole Parker. I liked 'Stewart', 'Dot' and the krumping (sp?) was funny too. Will miss you guys!!
Loved loved loved "Raging Rudolph" and the Lillian Verner gameshow sketches. I know Michael Hitchcock is a producer and not a regular cast member, but his Simeon character was the funniest, along with Stephnie Weir as the forever returning champion & cat fanatic Gail Cinder.
Too many to name, but some favorite sketches were Gangsta Rap Quartet, Foundation for Unwed Mothers, Big John's Shirt and Tie Barn, Soprano's on PAX TV, Taco Hell, and one I will never forget... That's My White Momma.
Seeing MADtv on comedy central in syndication has given me a crash course in picking out the best in their overall output..
My favorite:
The sketch in which it is the Vagina Monologues recited by Oprah (played by Debra Wilson) and three former first ladies: Betty Ford (played by Alex Borstein), Nancy Reagan (played by Nicole Sullivan), and Barbara Bush (played by Mo Collins)...
1. Sasso's Kenny Rogers 2. Sullivan's Lancome Lady 3. Anything Debra Wilson did, but especially the projects' gossip and her shouting "BOBBY!" as a coked up Whitney Houston 4. Meyers and Barinholtz in "It's a Football Thing"... does that make me gay? lol
Yes, I killed Yvette. I hated her sooo much. F - flames, on the sides of my face - heaving, breath-
Dave Herman, Bryan Callen, Phil LaMarr, Orlando Jones, Artie Lange and Nicole Sullivan are my favorite members for sure. I like Michael MacDonald and Will Sasso as well though.
Favorite characters were probably xnews guy "Marsh" played by Dave Herman, Sasso playing Kenny Rogers and Tony Soprano, Orlando playing OJ, Bryan Callen playing most of his characters, all of Dave Herman's characters and the Vancome Lady. I'm sure there are others but those are certainly my favorites.
I can't believe noone has mentioned Coach Hine done by Keegan-Michael Key. Key is one of my top favorite cast members with Will Sasso, and Coach Hines is a big reason for that.
Coach was funny, I'll admit that, but he was a one trick pony. Which is one reason why I stopped liking the Vancome lady and why I never really liked Stewart or Rusty. It just got annoying and trite. I know the same could be said about a lot of characters that would come back but I just felt he couldn't pull it off like some others. It was funny though. I split my sides laughing so hard the first time I seen him do the character.
Edit: Come to think of it, that was a dumb post. I mean, all characters that are popular have their schtick. So I guess the one trick pony remark was unnecessary. I guess I just got bored of his character after a while. I remember the skit he used to do with Jordan Peele where they were superstitious. That was usually good for a laugh.
Also, does anyone remember in the first season: the skits about "Duck Duck Duck Duck Goose" and "Rock Paper Scissors"? They were simple movie trailors with just text. Despite being stupid and pointless, they made me laugh out loud. I just bought the season one dvd and was watching the episodes when both of those popped up and I remember laughing despite how lame they were.
Also Lowered Expectations was really funny when it started.
come on guys!! i couldnt have been the only one to laugh at the abercrombie skits! I think was ike barinholtz, and Lorraine :P :P still to this day i quote her!
Does anyone remember the Lethal Weapon parody? Where Rigs and Mertaugh open a restaurant? House meets Greys Anatomy: I keep watching that one over and over again.
1. Darlene McBride- the racist country singer. 2. Ms. Swan- Classic 3. Whitney Houston- Sweaty, ghetto, and hopped up on Crack. 4. Bjork- Alex Borstein does the best Bjork ever! 5. Cher- Mo Collins almost tops the real Cher. 6. Connie Chung 7. Ray's Grudge- A blind date with terror.
Favorite sketches 1. "The Vancome Life" video with Mase(Aris Spears) and The Vancome Lady 2. Will Sasso and Alex Borstein singing "You Are The Love Of My Life" 3. "Bill Clinton on General Hostpital" 4. Most of the Will Sasso as "Kenny Rogers sketches" 5. Aries Spears as "The Son of Dolemite" 6. The Ms. Swan sketches with Chris Hogan 7. Debra Wilson as "Oprah" 8. "UBS guy goes to Super Bowl Party"
1. Terminator sent back to save Christ 2. Amped coffee guy in supermarket line 3. Sasso's Kenny Rogers and Steven Seagal 4. Wilson's Oprah and Whitney 5. Animated Christmas parodies 6. Wier's little girl skits 7. Dolomite 8. Rocket Revengers & Star Trek 9. Borstien's public toilet lounge singer 9. Gump Fiction 10. Depressed Taxi Driver 11. Michael Jackson 12. any skit which featured Mo or Deb's dynamite stems
To me the show was just like SNL on average. ie. More bad stuff than good but the funny stuff is unforgetable when it happens. Although SNL has had a few better than average seasons lately.
Too many to name but the first few seasons of the show were gold. My favorite skit is probably Orlando Jones as O.J. simpson in "The Interview: Bloopers, blunders, and boners" that is still funny to this day. Honorable mention to Frank Caliendo and his Dubya impressions along with Will Sasso's Kenny Rogers, those were great.
