Writers

According to IMDB, this show was written by the same Andrew Davies who usually writes the big period dramas you find on the BBC from time to time, and adapts classic literature to the TV.

Is this correct? I find it very hard to believe, as he seems to have no similar shows (comedy/sitcom) on his resume, plus the guy is (apparently) 70yrs old. Game On (at least at the start) was a very fresh, cool show that appealed to the younger generation.

Have you got the right guy???!

I've just got out my Game On boxset and started watching the show again today. I came here to see what else the writers had done, I was surprised to see the age of Andrew Davis and his resume.

It is the correct Andrew Davies. He is 70 now. He was only 59 when the show started so not completely past it and some people are very young in the mind.

It's entirely different to the period dramas he adapts but that's precisely what they are - adaptations. Not his material. He's very fond of literature, clearly.

It does make quite alot of sense if you think about it cause there are loads of references throughout the series' to various bits of high brow literature.
What a great show to have one episode where a characters talking about John Paul Satre and in another a character with his knob stuck in a hoover...

It is the very same Andre Davies, I once read that co-writer Bernadette Davis was some kind of student that he had tutored
