Best British Comedy Ever?

agree with all that, what can we do to make them make a 4th series!

I LOVED Game On. I moved to Texas 9 years ago and have been trying to get a copy of all 3 series that will play over here either vhs or dvd. Does anyone know where or if they are available in Region 1 DVD format or US VHS? Any help would be great.

Maybe not the absolute best of British comedy (you have to think, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Open All Hours are in the running too), but Game On is certainly up amongst the greats.

The 'new Matt' was a lot better than the 'old matt' IMO. He was more charismatic and funnier.

4th Series is very unlikely now 10 years on since it ended. Apparently, according to Sam Janus, a 4th series was planned and even commissioned, but sadly it never got done because the actors were all off doing other projects.

This is a series that could have lasted atleast another 2 good seasons.

Instead we get cr*ppy extensions of poor shows hitting 6th and 7th seasons with very little or no quality to them.

It's so underrated it's untrue. I think the show suffered from being in a stylstic battle with Men Behaving Badly, which, as MBB was already established when Game On began airing, it was never going to win.

Interestingly, if I compare the two now, though, MBB seems outdated, puerile, poorly scripted and just doesn't stand up to today whereas Game On is just as hilariously brilliant as it was in 1995.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it the best (british ) comedy ever, since I would put one foot in the grave, some of the black adder series, the office, Rising damp, and Reggie perrin (the original one starring Lenord Rossiter not the lame remake) and fawlty towers above it.
Oh and father ted though not sure that one technically counts as a British comedy
But it was certaintly very good I put it above men behaving badly for example and above pretty much all other british comedies not mentioned above and certaintly above all American ones.
