why did thay change everthing after one season?
like get a wole new cast and was there a season 4 becuse it is not on hulu
I've forgotten the exact details, but the story I heard was that they changed the filming locale. If I remember correctly, the first season was filmed in Florida. But the production company switched to Australia for the second season (which I guess was because it would be cheaper to work there). Apparently, most of the cast didn't want to relocate to the other side of the globe, so everyone was dropped from the show, except Maya of course.
And I don't think they ever actually explained what happened to Keith Ricks, Pam or Mike, though I distinctly remember seeing a website a few years ago, that explained that both Keith and Pam moved to a different research institute and started dating openly. Whether that was any kind of official explanation, or if that was just a bit of fan fiction fantasy, I don't know.
I always thought it stunk that they got rid of Keith, because he was the lone link to the original series, as this is the grownup Bud Ricks of the 1960's series. So dropping him from the show meant that there was no longer any connection to the old show or the two movies that preceded it.
I was on Pigeon Key FL. as they filmed the pilot. Everyone in the area was thrilled until later word came that they dropped every plan and moved production to Austrailia for 2 reasons. First that the Keys were rediculously exspensive. Second that Austrailia was fantastically cheaper in comparison. The industry in the Keys has yet to recover except for some film, cameos and commercials.
