I'm the biggest fan of this show and I feel the odd plot hole adds to its charm. Did anyone else notice how Ted left Mass early to go to the writer's party. However, everyone else had been invited (including the nuns) and were there before him. So, surely they would be under the same time constraints as Ted and therefore would have to leave Mass early? Or did she ask Ted to come round earlier?
shareHa, ha! Totally agree with you that the odd plot hole adds to its charm (and there are quite a few!) But I think in this case the story (sort of) makes sense: Since Ted is the one saying Mass, it ends when he leaves, so everyone is free to go. The problem is he's forced to hitch a ride with Tom and gets involved in the post office "incident" and car crash, so by the time he arrives at Polly's, it's already dark. :-D Poor Ted...!
