I'm watching a Christmassy Ted, and did I just spot Gabriel Byrne on the tv ad for the priest chatline?

No, Penelope's right. It was most definitely the Irish actor & comedian Ed Byrne. I'd not really expect to see Gabriel Byrne popping up TBH.
