Evil Dead homage?!

I honestly only gave this a watch recently due to it being one of the only Raimi/Tapert produced shows I haven't seen yet. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's awesome and that I had indeed seen some of this show back in the day.

Anyway, this is a big breakaway from most Raimi/Tapert shows. This is probably because it's one of the few that was not filmed in New Zealand, so you don't get any of the recurring cast you get in their other shows, with the exception of Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi making separate appearances in the single season AG aired.

However, the episode with Ted Raimi seems to be a big Evil Dead nod. The whole forest/cabin area where they take the hostage looks a lot like the Evil Dead cabin set in the first two films. I'd say this had to be intentional, but I have not been able to find anything about it online. Does anyone know of any sources that confirm this?
