fx wise - how the hell did they even make this??

this movie is amazing to watch today. looks incredible by today's standards, was there blue screen for this? even the stunts seem impossible to perform, what about the guy who gets his face smashed into a toilet, TWICE in the same shot?

I dunno, they better put that bluray and making off out sometime soon because I have a thousand questions about this film. absolutely stunning.

james cameron, man. he was the gold standard for FX in the 90's.

Yeah, I saw the movie opening day when I was 10 and just like T2, man James Cameron like Avatar or not, will always be the *beep* man. The king of the world for sure.
His movies don't age.

The urinals were made of foam rubber, that's why they could do it. The film has great action all around, Arnie was in his prime. I doubt there will ever be a special edition, the whole terrorist angle is no longer a laughing matter.

There were plenty of practical-effect shots on location. CGI was available but not fully viable as it is today, not even for Cameron. The Harrier, the limo chase, etc, weren't done wholly by computer. Plus in the early 1990s Cameron and Speilberg were 5-6 years ahead of any other director.

:D thats Cameron for ya, even Avatar (despite its ridiculous nature) is years ahead fx wise of anything else on the table nowadays.

He is always ahead.
